If you live in the eastern or inner west suburbs of Sydney and fancy helping care for orphaned or injured wildlife, WIRES is running new members’ training courses. “Contrary to popular belief, we actually have a lot of native wildlife in the inner and coastal suburbs of Sydney,” Chair of the inner west branch Brigette Sharp tells CHERRIE. Even if you live in an apartment, you can still take care of injured birds and other critters until they can be released. What: WIRES courses. When: 30 & 31 August (inner west); 27 & 28 September (eastern suburbs). Where: TBC.
