Upstart Alley in Melbourne returns, once again mixing it up cabaret style with a range of performances including dirty shenanigans from Sydney-based superhost Wife, racy rhymes form Melbourne’s very own ‘femcee’ Pash and readings and words from Bryan Andy, Jaun Lamas from Sydney and Maria Zajkowski. The Transylvanian Gypsy Kings will rock the house and DJs Toupee and Kapitolina will spin the tunes at this not-for-profit grassroots genderqueer event. What: Upstart Alley. When: 3 May, 8.30pm-3am. King Victoria in Melbourne is a hub of “kings, queens, femmes, transqueers, bio men, live musicians and even aliens!” according to organiser Bumpy. Now the drag king and performance night has moved to a new venue, the revamped Glasshouse Hotel.
