If you haven’t already bought tickets to Margaret Cho’s new
show Beautiful, which premieres in
Sydney and Melbourne next week, be quick! Tickets are selling very quickly for
the queer comic who’s a huge favourite among the GLBTIQ community.
Beautiful is about body image and learning to love yourself.
“It’s something that really affects everybody,” Margaret
told CHERRIE’s sister mag SX in December. “But I think for queers
in general, it’s really important to feel beautiful because you have to have
more confidence in the world than straight people, you have to have more
stamina than straight people, you have to have more abilities in yourself,
because we live in a world that is really anti-gay and in order to survive that
we need to feel beautiful. So it’s a show about finding that beauty within
ourselves and defining ourselves more as beautiful, which I think is a really
important issue.”
Serious political issues and big laughs are guaranteed in
any of Margaret’s shows, so don’t miss out!
