 Renee Schembri gives us the lowdown on changes to her popular girls’ night.
Three years is a long time of doing a club every week so Bitch is going monthly. Moving with the times and wanting to expand the Bitch brand to exciting new avenues means we had to take a step back from running every Friday. We’re planning on taking Bitch to the next level.
Going monthly gives us the option of putting on bigger and better nights, so as to give the girls something huge to look forward to. It gives us the opportunity to bring more artists and performers to Bitch, as well as those from interstate and overseas. We’re touring again to London and Manchester this year, so there’s always the option of bringing those artists that we perform with over there back here for a little Sydney hospitality.
Bitch Bar monthly will happen at the regular venue Mars Lounge – and basically jam four weeks’ worth of Bitch into one big one. There will be themed parties, live entertainment and more guest DJs including Mafia from Melbourne who will be joining the team. There’s a lot we can pack into one night, trust me!
As well as monthly Bitch @ Mars, we have our 3rd birthday month which is full of surprises. Bitch Revolution will launch 5 July, kicking off the celebrations in style at the Oxford Art Factory.
Revolution will be all-night parties on a Saturday night, happening every few months as special one-offs for the girls – it’s part of a movement, something new to what you have seen before and we are very excited about this new chapter.
Revolution will combine big live sound with visual installations, live performance, with a fresh new feel. Make sure you’re part of the launch as it’s very special occasion: DJ Sista P’s farewell party. Catch her final set in Sydney before she heads overseas for a six-month tour. We have some big surprises planned, including our traditional Laugh at the Staff show as we send her off in style. We’re gonna party like its 1999!
